ELF Smudge Pots Brownie Points

I love ELF. I think we all do. So, its no surprise that I made yet another order from their website and when my goodies came I just couldn't wait to show you this!
It is an 'elf smudge pot'.
I've had my eye on them for some time but, up until recently, they were only available in the US .. Boo!
When I spotted them on the 'New' section of the ELF UK website I popped one into my basket, to see if the hype was worth while and now I wish I had gotten one in each shade!

I chose the shade 'Brownie points' as I thought it looked like the one I would get the most wear out of  and I am so pleased I got to try this one first.
These little pots of cuteness are only £2.95 each and come in 6 different shades (a little disappointing, seeing as ELF US have more shades still - but some is better than none!).
I love the packaging
As with all ELF products it does come attached to a cardboard sleeve - which I quickly discarded to test the product out - but the actual pot is very cute. It is made from plastic with a little white lid and it is very robust. I like that you can see the product inside, too!
The only thing I would say for improvement would be to make the pot from glass, like the Maybelline color tattoo eyeshadows. Having said that, the ELF smudge pots actually hold more product than the Maybelline color tattoos and are £2 cheaper, so I guess you cant have it all!

The pigment of the product is lovely, It does have to be built up in order to be the same shade as it is in the pot, but this is no bother.
It is so shimmery and gorgeous! The formula is a gel one, and I found it really easy to apply with my fingers. This would work perfectly as a nice alternative to your usual black eyeliner, too!
I love that the formula is enriched with Vitamin E to hydrate your delicate eye skin - what a lovely touch.
The wear time of this is great and I found it didn't crease either, which was a concern I had had about it. I love to sweep this over the lid alone but I feel 'Brownie Points' would work well to smoke out an eye look when built up, or it would work great to highlight the inner corner of the eye when applied more lightly.

I cant wait to order some more of these - I already have my eye on shade 'Cursing chic'! For £2.95 they are an absolute bargain and they work so well for days when you don't have time to sit and blend endless amounts of eyeshadows! You can view the full range here.

  1. this looks so nice, and so affordable too! i've never actually tried any elf products but i really want to try out these - nice post!
