12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 5

Friday, 31 October 2014

Hello Honeybee's. I hope you've been enjoying the 12 day blogger challenge, today's challenge is something more personal.

12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 5; Most Loved Possessions

This is very hard as I love and am grateful for everything I own, but sometimes its an items sentimental value that makes it the most valuable to you. Here are a few of mine;

The first thing I could not be parted with is my beautiful engagement ring. Dan chose it all by himself and every time I look at it I feel loved and blessed. It is white gold with a heart shaped diamond and engraved with the words 'I Love You'. It means so much to me and I cant wait to pair it with a wedding band when we marry next year!

Some people may not understand why I keep a scrap of paper with my name on it. They may say that memories of our loved ones are more important and, while I agree, I would be heartbroken if this ever went missing. It looks like just any old piece of paper, but it is a piece of paper from the last time my grandad wrote my name when he was in hospital and it means so much to me. I know that a material possession will never give me comfort from losing him, but I cant part with this and it is so precious to me. It feels like I still have a part of him with me and Ill treasure it forever.

I am in no way saying that my baby is a possession with this image!
I am saying that the scan photo is my precious possession, the baby will be a whole different adventure. Dan and I had a shaky start with our baby and this picture is more than just a scan image to me. It is safety, it is comfort and it is a constant reminder that, from now on, I will never be alone. I love our baby more than I can say, and although we have never met, I know I will love it for eternity.

I have so many things that are precious to me, but most of them are not material things and cannot be physically seen. I am healthy, loved and protected, I have a roof over my head, food in my tummy and clothes on my back and I am so thankful for that! Although there are some items I would never be without, I think its the things you cant see, like memories, that mean the most.

What are your most loved possessions?

12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 4

Thursday, 30 October 2014

I have been really looking forward to day 4 of the 12 day blogger challenge!

12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 4 ;  Top 5 list.

Today's challenge is to write a 'Top 5 list', this could be anything you like from books, to places, to foods - but I have decided to tell you my top 5 Movies.  Everyone loves movies, and I really like that everyone has such varied tastes, not like food where most of us would list chocolates in our top 5.
There is an endless amount of movies, all so different and I love to meet people with new tastes and watch films that I may never have come across before!

It is impossibly hard to write this list as I literally have thousands of movies that I want to include, (especially Disney movies, so I have decided to exclude them), but I'm gonna go with this ...

So, in no particular order, my top 5 movies must include;

5. Water for Elephants (2011). 'A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a travelling circus as their vet.'
This is such a beautiful movie. I just cant get enough of it, and since reading the book I have fallen in love with it even more. With an addictive soundtrack (yes, I have downloaded it to my iPod) and a wonderful cast including Reese Witherspoon, Cristoph Waltz and Robert Pattinson, it has firmly become one of my favourites ever. The touching story excites, frightens and leaves you desperate for a day out at the circus!
4. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008). 'The story of Benjamin Button, a man who starts ageing backwards with bizarre consequences.'
A true masterpiece. I waited what felt like  an age for this to be released at the movies and I was truly breathless when I first saw it. It is beautiful from start to finish. Amazing special effects, a perfect sound track (again, I have downloaded it!), and a unique story - this film is just perfection on screen. I am in love with the mix of characters, the beauty of the decades and the love and passion throughout. Starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, amongst others, it is a movie that will stand the test of time and is sure to have me watching again and again.
3. Jumanji (1995). 'When two kids find and play a magical board game, they release a man trapped for decades in it and a host of dangers that can only be stopped by finishing the game.'
This is a true classic that I'm sure everyone must have seen (if not, why not?!). Robin Williams' character and personality is infectious and the adventures in this movie are just so exciting. Also starring a young Kirsten Dunst, it is just a brilliant family movie! I love the unique characters and story allows you to explore the furthest depths of your mind! I also loved the spin-off cartoon TV show of this with more characters and more epic adventures!
2. The great Gatsby (2013) 'A Midwestern war veteran finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbour.'
What can I say about this movie without turning a short paragraph into a full essay? Its exciting, its vibrant, its glamorous its everything it should be and more. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Migure and many more this decadent movie encapsulates the spirit of the 20's and is almost like watching a live play right through your TV screen. Overwhelming sets, fabulous costumes and a little tragedy thrown in makes it the ultimate period piece. I love the use of current music, giving a unique twist to this gorgeous masterpiece. Everytime I watch it, its like time stops and I just go into a magical Gatsby trance!
1. Saving Mr Banks (2013) 'Author P.L. Travers reflects on her childhood after reluctantly meeting with Walt Disney, who seeks to adapt her Mary Poppins books for the big screen.'
What a journey! As well as taking you back in time to discover the origin of the Mary Poppins story, you are treated to seeing Tom Hanks play Walt Disney - was there ever a cuter thing? Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors and, along with Emma Thompson, he just brings this film to life. It is pure magic as you see the written word come to life for Mr Disneys' Big screen! Emma Thompsons gives an amazing performance as Mrs Travers and just brings her personality to its glory. I cant get enough of this film, watching the songs being written and coming together for the Mary Poppins movie as well as Mrs Travers naivety around the film industry and her passion for her story, it is just infectious!

*BONUS*
I'm not sure if this counts as a movie as it is more musical, but it is just perfect!
Walk the Line (2005) 'A chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's life, from his early days on an Arkansas cotton farm to his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis, where he recorded alongside Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins'
This piece, all about the legend Johnny Cash, is magical! I could just watch it over and over. and Reese Witherspoon portray Johnny and June to perfection and their singing skills are surprisingly brilliant. I love to learn more about the life behind the star and this film really brings the whole story to life. It is a great watch for both 'Man in Black' fans and those who are new to the country scene!

What are your top 5 movies of all time?

12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 3

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Day 3 of the 12 day blogger challenge is one that some people my find pretty simple, but not me ...

12 Day Blogger Challenge day 3 ; Quote of the day.

This could be any quote to sum up any feeling or thought and that's why I am finding it so hard. I have a million things running through my head right now; I'm excited and nervous about our wedding, I'm overwhelmed by pregnancy, I'm thankful for my health and all the things I have and I am happy that I am living life the way I am.
Overall, I feel blessed, and it is impossibly hard to sum that up in one quote.
I want to share something to inspire others, just because you may be struggling or unhappy right now, that's temporary, and its important to focus on that, nothing lasts and you have the power to change it.
So, here goes;

'For what it's worth; its never too late to be whoever you want to be. Theres no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.'

I love this quote, it comes from one of my favourite movies 'The curious case of Benjamin Button.' I'm not sure why I love that quote so much, but it really stood out to me. It makes me think that its okay to not know who you want to be or what you want to achieve, you shouldn't let time define that about you. It gives me hope that there is always more time. It reassures me that material things don't make you who you are, but experiences do, and there is always time to experience new things, you don't ever have to stop. And most importantly it tells me that you should be proud of whatever it is you decided to do, do it for yourself, not for the satisfaction or gratification of others.

I hope this quote inspired you as much as it does me, and I really hope you can take something from it!

What is your favourite quote?

12 Day Blogger Challenge | Day2

Tuesday, 28 October 2014

Welcome back to the 12 day blogger challenge beautiful honeybee's, I hope you're having a great day, night or whatever it may be!

Today's part of the challenge is something I do quite often; review a product brand or service

I am going to be reviewing a gorgeous costume I was sent recently by online costume store Jokers Masquerade. Halloween is almost here and there's still some time to think about what costume you may want wear at your Halloween festivities.
I was sent this beautiful 'Dorothy' costume by Jokers Masquerade and I am so impressed with it; it is made so well, fits so nicely and is suuuper comfortable!

I was worried that, in typical Halloween style, this dress would be crazy short and revealing, but it is not that at all! At just above the knee, I found it to be the perfect length and I love how the fabric on the skirt swings out and looks very girly and sweet, it would look perfect with a petticoat underneath.
The top of the dress is a bustier style which is fitted but breathable, giving a gorgeous figure and the fabric is super soft and comfortable, too.
The dress fastens with a hidden zip up the back and features cute gingham spaghetti straps as well as puffed out shoulders so you can wear it slightly off the shoulder.
I found the sizing to be very accurate, too. I have bought costumes online before and have been disappointed at how small the sizing was, but this one is just so true to size and fits like a glove.
I love this costume as it is a real classic and will be recognised by everyone at any party, just add a pair of red shoes and you are good to go!

For a Halloween twist to this costume I created a 'deceased Dorothy' make up look, using these crazy contact lenses which I won in a recent competition from Beautifeye contact lenses
If you want to keep the costume true to its roots you can just apply a light sweeping of brown shadow and some peachy lipstick with these cute french plait pigtails, but I decided to give it a more freaky feel, and added a slight Chelsea smile in bright red and some stitching around the face and neck - making it perfect to wear to a Halloween party.

If you are panicking that you won't receive your costume in time for Halloween - don't! Jokers Masquerade offer all sorts of delivery options, including a click and collect service, where you can pick up your costume at 1 of over 5,000 UK stores just 1-2 days after ordering. Plus, you are guaranteed same day dispatch on all delivery options if you order before 4pm!

I am so impressed with this gorgeous costume and I have been browsing the Jokers Masquerade site for hours now, admiring the endless amount of costumes, and wondering what I should try next?!

What are you going to wear this Halloween? Tag me on Instagram @peacelovevintage!

12 Day Blogger Challange | Day 1

Monday, 27 October 2014

Today marks the start of a 12 day blogger challenge, which originated with the lovely Amy from stylestorms (if you havent seen her beautiful blog, check it out here).
I love taking part in blogging challenges and I am particularly excited about this one as it will give you, my amazing readers, a chance to find out a bit more about me!

Day 1's challenege is entitled; Why do you blog? + 5 random facts.

So, why do I blog? If you've been a reader for some time you've probably seen me answer this question before, but I guess the reason I started blogging was because I have passion. I studied at beauty college and fell in love with the industry, not necessarily just giving beauty treatments, but the whole atmosphere of the beauty industry. I found it exhilarating, there are constantly new products to try, you can meet some amazing people and so much more.
My love for beauty continued and grew when I got my first job in a beauty salon, I loved seeing how happy even the littlest of treatments, even just a simple nail paint, could make a woman. Please, don't get me wrong, I understand that there is much more to a person than an outward appearance, but I loved the feeling of giving women a boost and a little extra confidence through a half hour appointment. When my job ended at the salon (I was only covering maternity leave, boo!) I was lost, I didn't know what to do and I felt like I was loosing touch with something I loved so much.
So I decided to start writing a blog inbetween looking for work, and now I am addicted. I have learned so much through blogging, and not just about the beauty world, but about the real world too; how to network and how to approach and liaise with companies, brands and bloggers a like. I love being able to keep up to date with what's hot and what's coming up and I love meeting new people. My blog is constantly growing and I am so proud to say that it is something I have done all by myself, and I am so looking forward to what is in-store!

5 random facts - this could be interesting!

1. I have a metal spine! I had a corrective surgery for scoliosis - a spinal deformity - where my spine was replaced with titanium rods to keep it straight. You can see my x-rays in the collage!
2. I am so scared about giving birth in April!
3. I LOVE classical and country music and I cant stand pop music (except Katy Perry, of course!)
4. I dream of living in America one day <3
5. I know it's weird, but I eat Starburst with the wrappers on :/

Well, that was slightly embarrassing, but I hope you guys got some fun and laughs out of it! Looking forward to blogging for you again tomorrow where I will be reviewing my favourite product, brand or service!

Baking | Toffee Choc Chip Zombie Cakes

Thursday, 23 October 2014

I'm sure you know by now that I love to bake!
Cupcakes are my favourite thing to make as they always go down well with everyone and they are so quick and easy to do, and these awesome toffee choc chip zombified cupcakes are no exception! I gave Dan a batch to take to work and all his work friends loved them, as well as giving a few away to my friend, where they were very much appreciated, too.

I usually always make my cupcakes from scratch, as I enjoy the process, but when I was shopping in Morrisons this week I spotted a 'Wrights toffee cake mix', it sounded delicious and very seasonal - I really wanted to try it out. It only costed me £1.70 and made about 16 large muffin sized cupcakes, and I only needed to add water and a little oil, so it was a bargain!

I made up the cupcakes according to the packet instructions,  but for some extra treats I sprinkled in some chocolate chips and used some green food dye to give the cakes a zombified green look! The green dye does get paler when the cakes cook, but its a great surprise when your friends bite into them and notice the green colouring within!
When making up the cake batter I noticed lots of lovely little toffee pieces inside it, to give extra yumminess and when they were cooking the house just smelled incredible! So Sweet and autumny!
I used these cute bat muffin cases which I picked up In IKEA, they are nice and big, making for very generous sized cakes, I also liked how they kept their shape when cooking.
The cakes look great plain, but I decided to add a drizzle of green icing to each one and insert these cute Halloween themed picks into them for extra seasonal fun ;) I picked these up in the £1 shop and they really finish off the cakes perfectly!

The cakes tasted absolutely delicious - they were so soft and fluffy and just packed with flavour. I was so impressed with the cake mix and I'd definitely use it again! If you have been invited to any Halloween festivities over the next couple of weeks and want to bring something along with you, then these cupcakes would be perfect, they are so quick and easy to make and the toffee flavour is perfect for the Halloween season. You could bake these an hour before you go and they will be gratefully received by everyone who tastes them!

I cant wait to try some more cake mixes in the Wrights range, you can pick them up in most supermarkets and you can find out more information about them on their own website, right here.

Manicure Monday | Pumpkin & Lace Nails

Monday, 20 October 2014

If you have never tried Nail Decals before, now is the perfect time! They allow you to have flawless nail art in seconds, without all the fiddly fuss of painting and hours of drytime, plus, you can pick them upo super cheap online in any design your mind could think up!

I love shopping for my nail decals on eBay, there are so many and they are so affordable that you can always pick up a few at a time. When I bought these lace decals latley I just couldnt wait to use them and I had something autumnal in mind.
When Autumn & Winter come around its easy to become fond of all the rich, berry shades but this week I wanted to try something a little more vibrant, that would work well as both an autumn and Halloween design.

I decided to use 2 of my 'Sinful Colors' Professional Polishes. This gorgeous Shimmer Orange in 'Cloud 9' and an orange glitter top coat for my statement nails in 'UFO'. These polishes are just £1.99 each and I love the smooth coat and glossy finish that they give. The wear time is good, especially when finished off with a good, clear topcoat.

To achieve the look for yourself start by filing your nails into the desired shape, I rounded mine to keep it simple and natural! You may want to buff and smooth your nail surface and trim your cuticles, but this is not essential.
Follow this with a good base coat, to prevent staining and maximise wear time, I am using Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Treatment.
You can then begin to apply your first coat of colour polish (I applied 2 colour coats in total), do this carefully to stop bleeding onto the skin and to prevent streaks and patches. If you decide to apply further coats make sure you leave 5 minutes between each coat for drying time.
Next, I wanted to add some glitter for feature fingers so I applied 1 coat of 'UFO' onto my ring fingers and thumbs.
Once this is completely dry you can begin to apply the decals, these will usually come with instructions so make sure you check yours, but I find the best way is to cut each decal out as close to the pattern as possible (this will eliminate overhang), then gently press it onto the nail in the correct position and hold it down with a damp flannel for 15-20 seconds. You should then be able to peel the backing off of the decal, leaving the beautiful design on your nail!
When you have finished each decal (I decided not to use them on my feature fingers) you can go over everything with a clear top coat. This will prevent chipping and allow everything to keep shiny for as long as possible!

Make sure you give your nails plenty of time to dry once completed and soak up the compliments! These decals are super pretty and will look great with any colour polish you may prefer to use!

Halloween Makeup Look | The Purge

Saturday, 18 October 2014

'Blessed be the new Founding Fathers for letting us Purge and cleanse our Souls, Blessed be America, a Nation reborn.'

This look, inspired by 'The Purge' movie, makes such a great Halloween costume. The use of make up in place of a mask is very creative and it can be worn with your everyday clothes, making it perfect for those who prefer not to go full costume!

Begin with your skin clean, dry & moisturised, this will create a smooth base for your make up application and will give you maximum wear time.
Then start to apply your foundation, you will need to wear one that is a couple of shades darker than your natural skin tone, this will give the impression of the 'mask' or a layer over your skin. I am using Seventeen's Photo Flawless Foundation and my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Make sure you avoid your eyelids.

Moving onto the eyes, start drawing circles in the eye sockets (you may need to feel for this first to get it as actuate as possible). Use a brown face paint or liquid eyeliner to create your circles. I am using  Fashionista Gel liner in Down Cool.

Now start to fill the circles in with a medium brown eyeshadow, I am using the Make Up Academy Matte Palette. Then you will need to shade the area to ensure it has enough depth to look like eye-holes in the mask, do this by shading the inner top corner of each circle and the outer bottom corner of each circle with either your brown face paint or a dark brown eyeshadow. I am using the same palette.

To add extra depth, take a black eyeshadow and delicately blend it into the edges of your previous shading. Layering on the darker colour will add extra 'shadow' and make for  less flat appearance.
You can then finish the eye section by using a black face paint or liquid liner and very carefully lining the circles you drew earlier. Make sure you keep this line as thin as possible, I am using Snazaroo's Face paint in Black.

To give the mask a cartoon like appearance you will need to draw in your eyebrows, creating a high-arched, menacing shape. I brushed my brows loosely into the shape I wanted and then filled them in using the darkest shade in Collections Work the Colour eyebrow Kit.

Arguably the biggest feature of this mask is the large, somewhat creepy grin. Start this by painting your entire bottom lip with white face paint, I am using Snazaroo in white, or alternatively you could use white eyeshadow.
Follow this by creating wide, cartoon like lips. To do this I first lightly shaded the shape I wanted in a rose coloured blusher and once I was happy I topped it off with this ELF Studio Matte lipstick in 'Natural'. You will need to extend the corners of your new smile past your natural lips to make for the un-natural, wide grin.
To give the lips extra shape, run a light brown bronzer under the bottom lip, this will create a shadow and give more of a cartoon like pout.

To make the large teeth, take a light amount of your black face paint or liquid liner and delicately draw lines onto your bottom lip to give the look of the top and bottom set of teeth. You don't want this to be too bold. I made the lines a little thicker at the base to make for the gaps between each tooth.
You can then take a grey eyeshadow and line under the bottom set of 'teeth', to give the appearance of a wide open smile.

The final thing to do is some extreme contouring. This is what will give the mask its 'character' style look and menacing shape. I started with a light bronzer, such as Hoola by Benefit to etch out the lines under my cheeks, around my chin, a chin dimple, smile lines, around the forehead and I also etched some lines under the eye holes, leaving a gap between the holes and the contouring to give the look of extra shadow.
Once you are happy with what you have done you can go over it with a dark brown shadow or darker bronzer and if you wanna take it to the next level use a grey eyeshadow to line parts of the contouring for extra definition!

And, that's it! This look is so fun but so creepy and looks great, even when done at the last minute! Make sure you allow yourself enough time to focus on the contouring, as this can really make or break the overall look. Be sure to make a really wide smile for photos to get the full effect of the wide-grin you painted in!

'REMINDER; All Emergency Services will be Suspended for a 12 hour period during the Annual Purge.'

Halloween Makeup Look | Night Crawler

Thursday, 16 October 2014

I dont know about you, but I am suuuuper excited for Halloween! I love all the festivities - parties, candies, cider (none for me this year!) and, of course, dressing up. Halloween gives you limitless possibilities when it comes to fancy dress, whether you prefer something sexy or scary, its fun to see what your mind can invent and get creative with it!

I had such fun with my Halloween Costume Series last year that I have decided to do a couple of looks this year as well. These are all going to be easy things that anyone can do and that will look super effective, even if done at the last minute!

The first look I have decided to demonstrate is a 'night crawler'! This is a demon inspired look which is glamorous and un-natural all at the same time. You can easily throw this together with a long black wig and black dress for a 'prettier alternative', or create a ragged costume for a freakier finish! This can be easily created with make up you have at home or that can be picked up cheaply at a costume store!

Begin with a clean, dry & freshly moisturised face, this will help make up apply more smoothly and last much longer! You can then go ahead and apply your favourite foundation, I am using Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation and buffing it all over my face and neck with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush.

Now its time to apply concealer for a flawless base. I am Using E.L.F's Complete Coverage Concealer palette and my ELF pointed foundation brush to apply it under my eyes and over any problem areas!

To keep this make up in place all night I am setting it all with Rimmel's stay matte powder in 'Transparent' and gently buffing it all over with my Real Techniques Powder brush. I love this brush as it never leaves my make up looking cakey or thick.

To start work on the eyes I am priming my lids with Make Up Revolution's Aqua Seal Primer, this will keep my eyeshadow in place and also bring out the pigments to make the colour more vibrant. This is so easy to apply and is the best primer I have ever tried!

Top off the primer with your choice in eyeshadow. I am using ELF's mineral loose powder pigment in 'Girly' and applying it all over the lid with my ELF small brush. You could use any colour you like, you may want to match it to the colour of your costume!

Now take a charcoal eyeshadow and brush it right into the socket of the eye to create a 'sunken in' look. You can see in my image above that I have brushed it down the side of my nose and along the crease of the eyelid. Don't worry if this is patchy as it will add to the 'un-natural' effect of the look.
Using the same eyeshadow and a thin brush, like this ELF Smudge Brush, create a dark line under the eyes, right up to the lash line. This will darken the eye and give some shape. You can carry this line on past the corner of the eye for extra shape and drama.

To define the eyes further, take your favourite black eye liner, I am Using Collection's eye definition liquid liner and create a bold, extended wing, you can meet this up with the line you created on the lower lash line for an extended eye shape.

Once your liner is dry apply a thin coat of your favourite mascara to define and separate your lashes. I find that for best results its good to start from the base of the lashes and wiggle upwards! I am using Maybelline's Colossal Go Extreme Mascara.

Now its time to add some lashes! I like to apply my lashes with tweezers as it gives me extra control and steadiness. I am using the 'Sassy' lashes by Make up Academy as they are spiky and un-natural looking - perfect to finish your eyes!

I like to have strong brows when my eye make up is heavy, so I am using Collection's Work the colour eyebrow kit. I am just filling in and extending my natural brows to balance out the eye look.

Now, the messy part! Taking a Black face paint, I am using Snazaroo Black, and a fine paintbrush or make up brush create a small black circle in the centre of your lips, this will be the centre of your 'evil'!

Now, using the same face paint and brush, start to draw angular shapes all over your face, making sure they all begin and end at the circle you created on your lips. You can copy this design or get creative and imagine your own - you could even extend them down to your neck!
Once you have drawn the shapes and are happy with them you can begin to fill them in with the black face paint, there is no rush to do this so take your time to keep it neat!

Now take the same charcoal eyeshadow as before and begin adding shadow to your shapes, this will make it look much less flat and add depth and dimension! Make sure you leave a small gap between your shape and your shadow for maximum effect and keep the shadow to just one side of each shape. I have also shaded around my lips .
Then you can take a white face paint, like this Snazaroo White, and begin to add some little dots to your shapes, this is optional and you could make up any design you feel like but I felt that it made the shapes look extra creepy!

This last step is optional, as not everyone is comfortable with contact lenses, and you will look great without them anyway! I am using these white mesh contacts from beautifeye to give a 'ghostly' or 'un-dead' feel to the look. I have also roughed up my hair and put on this awesome necklace that I picked up for 99p on eBay!

I hope you enjoyed this simple but effective Halloween look! You can make it as creepy or hauntingly beautiful as you like! If you decide to re-create this look, please share it with me on instagram and be sure to tag me so I can see it too!

Are there any Halloween looks you'd like to see me create over the next couple of weeks?

Superdrug Haul!

Wednesday, 15 October 2014

I love it when all the new Autumn lines hit the shops, the earthy and glowing eyeshadows, the berry lipsticks and the spicy scents, and I have been so impressed with what Superdrug has had on offer lately! I have picked up a few things that I absolutely love & want to share with you!

Barry M always have the most gorgeous selection of nail paints on the market and this season has been no exception. They have added new autumnal shades to their Gelly collection and their Glitterati Collection too and I have picked up a few that I just cant stop wearing!
'Paprika' is a beautiful rust shade that works so well with all of this seasons trends. It applies smoothly and because of the 'Gelly' formula it has incredible shine that lasts and lasts. I have never owned a nail colour like this before and it is definitely one of my autumn staples!
'Fashion Icon' is a new addition to the Glitterati collection and it is just incredible! Every time I wear this I get so many compliments about it. It has a base tone of deep purple with speckles of blue, silver and golden glitter! It dries super fast and looks so beautiful in every light aspect - I just can't get enough of it!

While browsing the Barry M display my eyes also wondered to this gorgeous little eye crayon! I love eye crayons so much, they blend well and apply like a dream.
I picked up this Barry M super soft eye crayon in 'No.2', a neutral brown with hints of golden glow, and it has been on my eyes everyday since.
It works so well with so many colours and gives the eyes depth and definition. As the name suggests it is so soft and silky to apply, which I find makes it easier to blend too. I love wearing this in the crease of my eye and blending it into my lid with my lovely new Make up Academy Copper eyeshadow.

There really is no need to introduce this brand, we have all fallen in love with the amazing quality and wonderful products of MUA and I, for one, have fallen in love with their new A/W additions!
I first spotted the new single eyeshadow shades on their website and knew that I had to try some out, and when visiting my nearest Superdrug there weren't as many available as I'd hoped, but I did manage to pick up the one I had wanted most. 'Copper', a perfect deep golden shade that glistens and makes the eyes glow perfectly! I have used this every day since owning it and it really gives the eye a gorgeous understated glamour look, I love wearing it with no eye liner and some natural lashes for full impact!

I also picked up a couple of lip pencils from the MUA display and I am super impressed with them.
First was 'Berry Wine' a deep plum pencil which is actually an eye pencil, but I have been using it as a lip liner! This shade looks as perfect alone as it does topped with your favourite lip stick and lip gloss. This colour really lends itself to the autumnal trends and makes your lips feel perfectly pouty. Second, was something I hadn't intended on buying but was intrigued by. The MUA 'Clear anti-bleed' lip liner, is a revolutionary product at a steal of a price. I had never tried anything like this before but it has come in so handy, there are often days when I want to wear a lipstick but find myself without a matching lip liner to prepare my lips, but the anti bleed lip liner solves this problem easily! I was dubious about it capabilities but it seems to be working just great and is a lovely make up bag addition in these months when darker lips are a big trend!

I couldn't help myself but pick up one more MUA item, too. Another one of their beautiful 'Intense colour' eye pencils, this one in 'Rich Brown' has been a perfect addition to my autumn make up routine on days when I feel that black liquid liner is just too bold. It applies smoothly and as the name suggests the colour is strong and pigmented. Its good to know that these also blend very well and, like the lip pencils, come with their own individual, built-in sharpeners!

Make up Revolution are fast becoming one of my favourite brands and with new items constantly being released its not hard to see why.
Whilst browsing their display I managed to find something I had been wanting to try out for a while, the 'Aqua Seal' dual purpose eye primer.
This little wonder works in 2 ways; 1, as a liquid primer to intensify your eyeshadows and help them last all day, and 2, as a sealant to keep your make up water resistant and locked in place until removal!
I have used this a few times now and I am just amazed at how well it works! There is a small dropper applicator which can be applied to a brush or directly to the skin and you only need the smallest amount for it to work its magic! I am so impressed at how this brings out the pigment in my eyeshadows, it totally transforms them to 'meh' to 'wow'!

I also decided to buy one of the 'Vivid blush lacquers', as my HD blush by elf has run out and this looked like a very similar alternative.
This one in 'desire' is so perfect for the autumn, it gives your cheeks that gorgeous rosy effect without being super pink and clown like! You only need a few pumps to cover the area and the colour is very pigmented and rich. It applies so well with fingers or a brush and lasts all day. I really like that the colour is buildable and you can see where you are applying it immediately, so there wont be any need to start over.

As some of you may know, I was never really a Rimmel fan, but in recent months I have grown fonder and fonder of the brand after trying numerous product, the prices are great and it really stays in place all day!
This is by no means a new product to the shelves but it is relatively new to me and I have been very Impressed with it. The Rimmel 'Wake me up' Foundation is a flawless base that Gives perfect skin and I really love the shade range on offer. I find that this applies so smoothly and blends so seamlessly that, really, it looks like you're not wearing make up at all! It has a very lovely delicate scent and leaves my skin feeling super refreshed and moisturised!

Something else I have been addicted to is the Rimmel 'Stay Matte' pressed powder. I have always been a fan of applying powder over my foundation as it feel it locks it in place and really adds to the overall 'porcelain skin' effect. This is one of the best powders I have ever tried, it doesn't feel or look cakey, it is so light and soft and it really does keep my make up in place so well. I have been using shade 'Translucent' as it doesn't give that orange look and gives me just the coverage I need!

You can see these products in my newest video below! Have you tried any of them yourself? Or do you have any recommendations for this seasons make up that you think I'm missing out on?!
