Review | NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm

Wednesday, 2 July 2014

Hello Y'all!

When summer comes around I love investing in some new lip balms to keep my lips soft and moisturised - and not cracked! The sun can really damage the delicate skin on your lips so it is important to care for them this season.

I have had my eye on the NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms for a couple of months and I finally got around to buying a couple of them when I spotted them for 50p each on the Fragrance Direct website!
These lip balms come in 4 colours and promise to give a blast of colour plus a caring swipe of moisture - all in all keeping your lips perfect for the summer time!
I picked up 'Caramel Apple' - a golden toned balm which will look great on those bare-faced days, and 'Garnet gala' - a more cherry coloured balm which will work wonders with a more girly look!

You can also pick these little cuties up in Superdrug for £2.49 a piece.

I really love the bright pink casing, its so vibrant and fun, and the transparent lid is a great idea- you can see the super sweet little apple shaped 'core' of the balm!
The product is like most traditional lip balms, with a swivel-up, swipe on approach. I also really like how robust and strong the lids are, they don't come off the tube and haven't shattered while in my make up bag!

The colour payoff's are great - considering these are only lip balms! I wasn't really expecting any colour to show up, so I was pleasantly surprised!
'Caramel apple' doesn't have much of a colour but it does have a gorgeous golden shimmer to it, which made my lips look very healthy and plump.
'Garnet Gala' has a wonderful cherry pay off with pink shimmer undertones - its a really sweet colour and is lovely to wear when I want t add a flush of colour to my lips! Its not too in your face but it is just right!
The lip balms have a lovely, fruity apple scent which lasts and lasts and they feel so velvety on the lips!

I really love wearing these and cant wait to order the other 2 shades from Fragrance Direct! They're definitely a great budget buy. If you want a new lip balm but don't want to splurge out on Maybellines 'Baby Lips', give these a try!
Which is your favourite lip balm this summer?

  1. Oooh I've heard good things about these but I don't think anything will ever convince me to stray from my Babylips!
